Staunton State Park Climbing
Staunton State Park, located in Colorado, is a great place for outdoor enthusiasts looking for a challenging and rewarding rock climbing experience. With over 40 climbing routes to choose from, Staunton State Park offers a diverse range of climbing opportunities for climbers of all skill levels.
Staunton State Park boasts incredible climbing opportunities that are not to be missed. The park’s Mt Evans Granite rock is outstanding, and the sport lines are expertly bolted for an enjoyable climb. While I have only climbed a few routes at Staunton State Park, I am already looking forward to returning. My personal favorite so far is “The Cookie Thief,” a single pitch sport climb with a YDS rating of 5.6. It spans nearly 100 feet and feels secure with ample protection. Once you reach the top, you can enjoy breathtaking views and even tackle another climb called “Follow that Thief,” which has a YDS rating of 5.9.
Climbers visiting Staunton State Park should also take advantage of the park’s beautiful scenery. The park features a variety of natural rock formations, including towering granite cliffs and massive boulders. Climbers can enjoy views of the surrounding mountains and forests while they tackle the park’s challenging routes.
